Chinese Art & Design...

Chinese art and design is best described as intricate and colorful. It has not changed much over hundreds of years. The beauty of it is very unique and enchanting. I was fortunate enough to see a small part of the rich heritage existing in Beijing. Although every day life is changing rapidly outside these historic enclaves, inside things remain much unchanged from Imperial times. Many an emperor would find the surroundings instantly recognizable. The Chinese are very proud of the artistic heritage that these sites represent. Much work is now underway to restore these sights for the world to see during the 2008 Summber Olympics being held in Beijing. I hope you get a sense of the Chinese artistic tradition from these pictures.
