My favorite painting at the de Young

I was intrigued by this painting when we visited the de Young a couple weeks back. It was my favorite piece. It was painted by Eastman Johnson in the 19th century. Why do I like it so much? Well, I really like 19th century paintings, and I love interior design. Combine the two, and I will usually love it. To me, the painting is a glimpse into a typical well-to-do Victorian family relaxing at home. Before photography and especially color photography, paintings were the only way to capture these moments and record the look and feel of life at that time.
